The Acadiana Repertory Theatre will present the developmental production of Kat Ramsburg’s Anatomy of a Hug, the second show in their 2016 Season. ART’s 2016 Season will see four developmental productions by 4 female playwrights, part of a year-long celebration of women who write for the theatre.
When Amelia’s mother receives Compassionate Release from her prison sentence, Amelia’s carefully constructed world is threatened. Twenty-six years of living vicariously through her beloved TV characters doesn’t prepare her for the actual drama of her mother’s return or the advances of a charming co-worker. The ticking clock of her mother’s illness means Amelia must decide if the safety of a fictional life is better than the possibility of her own story.
This developmental production is directed by Steven R. Landry and features Kayla Petitjean, Debbi Ardoin, Allen Higginbotham, and Kristina Marshall.
Anatomy of a Hug will take place at Theatre 810 in downtown Lafayette on May 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28 at 7:30pm and May 22 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $15. Students and Ssenior tickets are $12.00 with valid I.D.
